Pundamilia macrocephala are found near Mwanza in the southern park of Lake Victoria, and our stock comes from Python Island. They are typically found living deeper than Pundamilia pundamilia. They can be rather aggressive and breeding groups should be kept in species-only tanks. Breeding them will be very rewarding for both you and the fish, as they are on the CARES List due to their "Vulnerale" classification by the IUCN. Males are dark-blue/black with red fins during breeding dress. Females remain gray with some slight coloration near the ventral fins.
