There is some debate on what species of Mbuna was used to originally create OB peacocks, one thing is for sure, they are all Hybrids and can always be considered as such. Having become insanely popular over the last 20 years, prior to that a lot of hate because its not a naturally occurring fish, there are endless variations, colorations and body shapes, as the OB gene is dominant, breeding an OB Peacock to any standard peacock will net a lot of OB offspring often carrying the colors of the parental pure fish and often the body shape as well.
