DIMIDOCHROMIS COMPRESSICEPS *EYE BITER* (DOMESTIC, HOUSEBRED) 2.5"

A species thats in almost every Predator hap tank, contrary to its Common name, this fish is about as prone to going after eyes as any other species. Its an ambush predator that hunts from above, its lateral compression makes it harder to notice from below as it hides through the vallisneria along the shorelines of lake malawi where it actively hunts smaller fish. This hunting technique can often be observed in home aquaria if much smaller fish are present, generally it hovers vertically and motionless in a darker corner waiting for prey to swim by, where it quickly opens its huge mouth stretching it forward to gulp down the fish.
