One of the most popular Aulonocara in the hobby and generally considered the most aggressive is the Hybridized Dragonblood, which comes in a multitude of colors from orange, to deep reds to pinks. This fish was originally produced by Crossbreeding the Aulonocara hansbaenschi (Red Shoulder) with red strain Metriaclima Estherae and then further linebreed for years before being introduced into the hobby. Many names exist for this species with dragonblood sticking the most, such as Firefish, Strawberry, etc, but in reality they are the same fish, with possible variations based on coloration.
