FLUVAL 306-7, 406-7 Shrimp and fish safe intake strainer

A replacement Intake for all Fluval 306-7 and 406-7 intake strainers.

one of the biggest issues with Fluval Canister filters is sand intake, especially in tanks with Cichlids. when the sand gets in the motor, even small amounts, it can wear down the magnets over time as sand is abrasive. this intake protects the motor impeller and shaft from wear thanks to digging cichlids. To replace, simply pop the original intake strainer off, and pop this one on.

another advantage over sponge is that it does not need to be cleaned consistently as it does not plug up like conventional sponge intakes. 

for community tanks it is also Ideal, as the conventional intake holes are large enough to pull in full grown tetras, this will prevent not only community fish from being pulled in, but more importantly shrimp and snails, including very small shrimp.
