A stunning Placidochromis which is often considered the most aggressive in the genus, these semi large fish have thick vertical barring and develop red over iridescent blues often giving them a purple coloration, especially when fired up. In the wild these fish develop huge lips due to how they hunt, however in captivity they rarely develop these thick lips.
