Definately a must have in any large Hap tank, while not technically considered a predator, this species does get big, and wont have an issue eating smaller fish in an Aquarium. males are notorious for being late bloomers if not comfortable, many a time hobbiests have almost given up on their fish only for them to literally transform from their juvenile colors to a beautiful male overnight. They shoal in the wild with a single dominant male showing full potential, so in a tank its unlikely to see more than a single male show coloration.
