Yet another species from Lake Malawi with the common name sulfurhead, this is a smaller peacock at about 3.5-4" for adult males, closely related to the Aulonocara Kandeense. with a sometimes Jet black appearance for males, they have an absolutely stunning blaze contrasting the dark body coloration. The blaze can vary between bright yellow, to deep orange with some white on the dorsal depending on collection point, with Luwala having generally a more yellow color and being more common, and Eccles reef tending more towards orange.
